...that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth. – Acts 13:47
Do you have a heart for reaching men, women and
children who live in places where the Gospel is not heard? According to
the International Mission Board, 4,992 people groups live in "The Last
Frontier" – the part of the world with little or no access to the
Gospel. That means that 1.6 billion people have virtually no chance of
hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ!
By far the single most significant speech in human
history – the final earthly words spoken by Jesus – includes the most
compact expression of the Christian mission ever spoken. Its powerful
declaration continues to reverberate through the corridors of time like
peals of rolling thunder:
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore GO
and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the
Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey
everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to
the very end of the age."
- Matthew 28:18-20
The Great Commission sets the parameters of our
service to Him. It's a call for every member of God's family. And it is
GREAT. We will have other life tasks, but our primary work is to
fulfill the Great Commission – in our home, in our personal life, in
our neighborhood, in our workplace, in our community ... and beyond. We
have been entrusted to share the Good News of Christ! This is a
privilege each of us shares, as well as a responsibility we must take
personally.
We're excited about the missions and evangelism
ministries we have in place to share the love of Christ through people
just like you – people who want to make an eternal difference with
their lives. The opportunities to serve are limitless! We encourage you
to prayerfully consider how God can use you. |
